The passage of  Texas SB 181 and SB 1480 have made remote attendance courses permanently approved by the State of Texas and the DPS, meet the requirements and are accepted for alcohol and drug offenses, the Texas DWI Education Program and many others. AES was one of the first programs approved by the State and TDLR to provide this In-Person, Remote Attendance class. Our format was approved and many elements were adopted as a standard for this program. Our classes are considered "In-Person" classes with remote attendance using Zoom video conferencing software. Our Instructor-Led live classes are the same as has been taught since the day we opened our doors back in 2010. Every effort and detail to recreate the same classroom environment is taken.

Alcohol Education Services (AES) opened its doors in 2010 and have been licensed to provide DWI classes and additional services serving the Southeast Texas Community for almost 14 years. During that time, we have worked with most of the area Probation departments and Attorneys and have been a preferred provider to most of the area when it came to Court Ordered education and related services. Around 2020, when the Pandemic had created a challenge to many in completing required classes and restoring their normal life, AES became one of the first providers in Texas licensed by the TDLR to provide the same Texas state approved courses by remote attendance. We follow the same program curriculum and award the same Texas certificate of completion as we always have even in our physical classrooms. So, when you attend our "in-person", live classes by remote attendance, there is no difference in the program or the certificate you receive.

We are monitored and audited regularly to maintain our program and spend  much time and effort to make sure that our classes are the same classes that are provided in a physical classroom at a state facility and because of that the state has approved us and we are accepted as any other in-person class, we are just remote attendance, rather than requiring that our students come to our facility, and no matter what you may have been told, we are an approved and accepted program. The Texas Dept of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) has confirmed that their certificates of completion that we award you will be accepted at any court or county dept. Most places that tell people that they must attend a physical class only state on their site that it is preferred. That is why if the provider is a current TDLR licensed provider using the Texas curriculum and providing the Texas certificate of completion, a live instructor-led program can be by remote attendance. Feel free to investigate it for yourself. The information below was the first communication on remote attendance classes being confirmed and since then, has been written into law. When you hear that a class is not a physical classroom, so many think of online self-paced courses that litter the internet with promises of guaranteed approved certificates and those self-paced classes, with no interaction and are usually twice the price or more.

We are the same as we have always been we just focus on providing the same high quality in a remote attendance format. Since 2010 AES is here when you need them, now you can join us remotely for the same Court Ordered Education that you have known to trust and depend on. We offer a discrete, Professional, Quality DWI 12 Hour TDLR Program, in a respectful, non-judgmental environment with a convenient 24/7 on-line registration with multiple payment options if needed. So many of our clients tell us they put this class off for so long because they dreaded what it might be, but after completing our class, many say they enjoyed it, some actually said they learned more information in an easy and “painless” experience, so register today for one of our classes while seats are still available for the dates/times you desire. AES is still here for you if you ever need us.

12 Hour DWI Education Course (1st Offense)

Article 42.12, Section l3(h),Code of Criminal Procedure requires persons convicted of first offense DWI and receiving probation, to attend and successfully complete an educational program certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Failure to complete the program within 180 days (unless an extension was granted) from the date probation was granted will result in the offender's license being revoked. The license cannot be reinstated until the educational program is completed.

The standardized program is 12 hours in length and is designed to help DWI offenders increase their knowledge about alcohol and drugs as these substances relate to driving skills, to identify their own individual drinking/drug use and driving patterns, and to assist them in developing plans which will reduce the probability of future DWI behavior.

Specific course topics include alcohol/drug and traffic safety problems, Texas laws relating to DWI, effects of alcohol/drugs on humans, alcohol/drugs and driving task abilities, chemical dependency, symptoms of dependency, sources of assistance, costs of DWI, and decision-making.

3 - 4 hour classes. Certificate awarded at successful completion of class.

*$100 if paid prior to the start date of class.

The "Start Date" or  first day of class is defined as 12:01 am on the first day of the class.

PLEASE NOTE: All classes are subject to the State mandated minimum. Seats are not guaranteed until class has been confirmed.  Class confirmation status will be listed no later than 24 hours from start date and time. Students are responsible for staying informed of class confirmation and are encouraged to call or confirm the class status prior to reporting.

In the event that a class does not meet the state minimum and is cancelled, your registration will be automatically moved to the next similar time and date scheduled. If you have pre-paid and would desire to receive a refund and cancel your registration instead, please let us know at the time you are informed of the cancellation.

If you must cancel, all cancellations must be received no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time of class. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice and/or that cause the entire class session to be canceled due to dropping below the required minimum are not eligible for refunds but can be rescheduled.

PLEASE NOTE:  COST OF CLASS

* All students must pay the class fee at the time of registration or no later than the day BEFORE the scheduled start of the class. This is a requirement for the class fee of $100. The fee will revert to $120 if paid on the first day of class. No Exceptions. In the event of a class cancellation or if you must cancel, all cancellations must be received no later than 24 hours from class start time in order to receive refund.

*Delayed Payments:

When the class payment is not paid on the first day, there will be a penalty of $10 added to the amount if the payment is not paid by the 3rd day, an additional $20 payment will be added if not paid by the end of that class week or Sunday following the end of the class. Any other delay will incur additional late fees .

* PLEASE NOTE: PAYMENT/CANCELLATION/"NO-SHOW" POLICY

IN ALL CASES, NO-SHOW OR NOT SHOWING UP FOR A SCHEDULED CLASS AND NOT CANCELLING, RESCHEDULING OR REPORTING OFF, WILL OCCUR A $120 CHARGE AND WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY THOSE FEES TO A FUTURE CLASS. WHEN SOMEONE REGISTERS FOR A CLASS, THEY HAVE PUT THAT SEAT ON "HOLD" AND THE SEAT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO BE RESERVED. AT THAT POINT THE INDIVIDUAL WHO REGISTERED HAS ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT THAT THEY WILL PAY AND ATTEND THE SEAT THAT THEY HAVE REQUESTED. WHEN THAT PERSON DOES NOT SHOW UP AND DOES NOT CALL TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE, THEY HAVE VIOLATED THAT AGREEMENT AND HAVE CAUSED AN AVAILABLE SEAT TO BE UNAVAILABLE TO SOMEONE WHO MAY HAVE NEEDED A SEAT TO MEET A DEADLINE OR COURT DATE. WHEN THAT HAPPENS, THE NO-SHOW WILL BE WAIVING THEIR PRE-PAYMENT IF MADE, OR IF THEY HAVE NOT YET PAID, THEY WILL OWE AES FOR THAT UNAVAILABLE SEAT AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO APPLY THAT AMOUNT TO ANOTHER CLASS. A REGISTRATION BECOMES A VALID AGREEMENT TO ATTEND A PAY WHEN THE PERSONAL INFORMATION AND FORM AND BEEN COMPLETED TO THE POINT OF THE  FIRST SECTION OF THE REGISTRATION FORM. NOT COMPLETING THE PAYMENT SECTION OR EVEN STOPPING AT THE PAYMENT SECTION AND THE FORM "TIMING OUT" DOES NOT RELEIVE THE PERSON'S AGREEMENT. AS THE REGISTRATION STATES, " THE ACT OF OPENING AND COMPLETING THE PERSONAL INFORMATION SECTION (FIRST SECTION) OF THE REGISTRATION COMPLETES THE REGISTRATION FOR THE CLASS AND THE PERSON BECOMES A REGISTERED STUDENT. WHEN THEY DONT COMPLETE THE PAYMENT SECTION, IT MAY HOLD THAT FORM IN  AN INCOMPLETE STATUS ONLY FOR PAYMENT TRACKING, BUT THE STUDENT HAS ALREADY REGISTERED AND HAS RESERVED THE SEAT FROM BEING SOLD TO ANYONE ELSE, AND ENTERED INTO THE AGREEMENT TO ATTEND AND PAY. NOT COMPLETING OR CHOOSING TO PAY AT THE DOOR DOES NOT RELEVE THAT AGREEMENT. IN ADDITION, NOT ATTENDING AND NOT CANCELLING AFTER PAYMENT WILL ALSO PUT THEM AT A "NO-SHOW" STATUS. WHEN THAT HAPPENS, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT TO CONTACT PAYPAL OR ANOTHER CARD SERVICE AND CLAIM UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A CARD WILL BE CONSIDERED A THEFT ATTEMPT AND WILL BE RESPONDED TO AS SUCH. THAT IS WHY IT IS SO CRITICAL THAT YOU CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE, EVEN UP TO 24 HOURS AFTER THE CLASS, THE FEE MAY STILL BE ABLE TO BE USED FOR A FUTURE CLASS IF THERE IS AN ACCEPTABLE REASON GIVEN FOR THE FAILURE TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE BEFORE THE CLASS. ON ACCEPTABLE EXCUSES,  AES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO HANDLE ALL CASES ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS. PROOF/DOCUMENTATION  MAY BE REQUIRED IN SOME CASES. WHEN A CLASS IS CANCELLED DUE TO THE CLASS NOT BEING ACCEPTED BY PROBATION OR OTHER PARTIES, THIS WILL ONLY APPLY WHEN THERE IS A WRITTEN STATEMENT FROM THE PROBATION DEPARTMENT OF THE AFFECTED COUNTY EXPLAINING WHY THE LICENSED AND APPROVED STATE CLASS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, AND THE REASON MUST MEET THE LEGAL DEFINITION OF UNACCEPTABLE CLASSES ACCORDING TO TEXAS LAW, THE TDLR AND DPS DEFINITIONS OF "UNACCEPTABLE" PROGRAMS. THIS APPLIES TO CASES WHERE A PROBATION DEPARTMENT SIMPLY TELLS YOU A PROGRAM IS UNACCEPTABLE. THERE MUST BE WRITTEN PROOF THAT THE CLASS DOES NOT MEET THE STATE STANDARD. SIMPLY NOT PREFERRING A CERTAIN CLASS IS CLEARLY PROHIBITED IN THE DEFINITION OF PROGRAMS BY THE STATE AND TDLR/DPS TO PREVENT SELF-REFERRING PROGRAMS BY COUNTY DEPARTMENTS. ANY TIME A REGISTERED STUDENT DOES NOT ATTEND AND THAT STUDENT'S CANCELLATION CAUSES THE ENTIRE CLASS TO BE CANCELLED DUE TO FALLING BELOW THE STATE MINIMUM ATTENDANCE, THAT FEE WILL ALSO  BE NON-REFUNDABLE.  EVEN WHEN CANCELLED BEFORE THE 24 HOUR DEADLINE, WOULD ONLY MAKE THE FEE AVAILABLE TO BE USED FOR FUTRE CLASS ATTENDANCE, NO REFUNDS. AES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REVIEW AND MODIFY THESE POLICIES AND PRACTICES AS SITUATIONS MAY EFFECT COMPANY OPERATIONS. THESE CHANGES WILL BE POSTED IN THIS POLICY LOCATION.
